It’s fascinating how life weaves its tapestry, creating unexpected paths and opportunities. My own journey has been a testament to this unpredictability, starting as a young tech enthusiast building desktops and dabbling in HTML. However, I soon realized that my thirst for adventure couldn’t be quenched by computer sciences alone.
My path meandered through a degree in Interactive Media, where I not only gained technical expertise but also discovered a profound passion for creative problem-solving. This ignited an eclectic voyage of self-discovery, leading me through various professions like bartending, carpentry, and heavy equipment operation.
In this diverse landscape, I encountered unexpected opportunities that expanded my skills and broadened my perspective. My time bouncing in nightclubs and bars exposed me to the intricacies of safety and security, captivating me in ways I never imagined. From diffusing tense situations to safeguarding patrons’ well-being, I realized the paramount importance of protecting people and their experiences.
This immersion awakened a new sense of purpose within me, compelling me to forge a career in the safety and security industry and transcend the boundaries of societal norms. As my expertise flourished, so did my reputation as a consultant, offering me the chance to explore different cultures and broaden my horizons. Throughout these adventures, effective communication proved indispensable, serving as my steadfast companion in precarious situations.
Funny story – during this transformative period, some believed I had died. I had vanished from my old life for eight years, only to reemerge with renewed determination. Returning home, I sought atonement and tranquility through religious studies, which led me to collaborate with religious organizations, utilizing my communication prowess. However, even within those circles, I discovered the lurking shadows of darkness.
Disillusioned, I sought solace and joy in the embrace of a loving family, relishing the simplicity of fatherhood and the profound beauty of life’s small pleasures. Yet, destiny had another twist in store for me. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity whisked me back to college, reigniting a long-held passion: writing. With a B.A. in English, specializing in professional writing, rhetoric, and literacy, and a minor in history (because, why not?), I uncovered the transformative power of storytelling.
